The Canada RSP and The Canada RIF plans are safe and guaranteed, but your funds will no longer earn interest after November or December 2021, depending on the bonds you own. Don’t worry, moving forward is easy.

You can transfer your Canada RSP or Canada RIF plan to another registered plan.

If you want to transfer your funds to another registered retirement plan, contact your financial institution to start the process and provide them with your Canada RSP or RIF account number, which can be found on any one of your statements.

You can withdraw the funds from your Canada RSP or Canada RIF plan.

If you wish to withdraw the funds from your plan, contact Customer Service. Keep in mind that as with all registered retirement plans, the amount withdrawn will be subject to applicable withholding taxes and proceeds must be declared as income in the year of the withdrawal.
