While doing her monthly rounds of home visits, Dr. Camille Newton stopped in to see one of her patients who was struggling with urinary incontinence and skin health. His scientific background and innate curiosity to solve problems brought to life the first iteration of what’s now known as the BD PureWick™ Urine Collection System. The product was very basic in its initial design and when Dr. Newton saw the invention and the tremendous improvements in his wife’s skin health, she knew he was onto something.

Together they decided to share this outstanding invention with the world and started a company called PureWick™. A few years later after launching, PureWick™ was acquired by C.R.
