The Elora Singers have released a new recording in time for the holidays:  Radiant Dawn: Music for Advent and Christmas, featuring beautiful, contemporary arrangements of 19 traditional carols.

With twelve releases on the NAXOS label, the Grammy- and JUNO-nominated Elora Singers are recognized for their rich, warm sound and clarity of texture. The choir is renowned for its diverse styles, for its commitment to presenting and commissioning Canadian repertoire, and for collaborating with Canadian and international artists.

The Elora Singers, led by Artistic Director Mark Vuorinen, are joined by organist Christopher Dawes, cellist Katie Schlaikjer, and soprano Jennifer Krabbe, also a member of The Elora Singers.

The Advent and Christmas seasons are rich in their musical and textual offerings for choirs.  Ancient hymns and newly-written carols alike bring the sense of wonder and hope of the season alive in communities the world over.  Canadian composers Mark Sirett, Jeff Enns, and Gerda Blok-Wilson join international composers including Ola Gjeilo (Norway), Arvo Pärt (Estonia), Caleb Burhans (USA), James MacMillan and Philip Stopford (UK) and more, creating a global tapestry of choral music.

Recorded this past October at Appleby College in Oakville, ON, Radiant Dawn: Music for Advent and Christmas brings together the old and the new, with both the comfort of familiar and beloved settings and new carols which become part of new Christmas traditions.

Music from the CD will be performed in an online broadcast on December 18 and remain available to watch on demand until January 8.  Tickets for this and other fall season concerts are on sale now through our website: www.elorasingers.ca.
