Your Holiday Soundtrack from The Elora Singers!

You can enjoy world-class music, from the comfort of your favourite chair as often as you like over your holiday break. The Elora Singers present three beautiful online programs, available to watch on demand through January 7.

Bach and Handel: Music for Advent & Christmas includes excerpts from Messiah and Bach’s two Advent Cantatas, with chamber orchestra and soloists from The Elora Singers.  Recorded with a live audience in Kitchener on November 12 and 13, the concert marked The Singers’ first in-person performance in almost 2 years. It was a special evening and the magic was captured in this recording.

Keeping with a beloved annual tradition, The Elora Singers present Radiant Dawn: A Festival of Carols; a concert featuring traditional and contemporary arrangements of seasonal favourites, featuring repertoire from their new CD, Radiant Dawn, released in November.  The CD is available for purchase through their website (www.elorasingers.ca) or streamed through your favourite online platform. This concert was recorded in Elora in early December.

For anyone “Christmas-ed out” or looking for a non-holiday program, the gorgeous program of On Love is also available.  This concert was recorded in Oakville and built around a world-premiere performance, first broadcast on November 20.  The Elora Singers commissioned a new work from Canadian composer Timothy Corlis set to the poem by Kahlil Gibran and sung in English and Arabic. Artistic Director Mark Vuorinen says, “This setting of these beautiful words of love and unity seemed the perfect message to present; of love and unity as we reemerge from the challenging months behind us into a season of hope and light.”

All performances followed COVID-19 regulations at the time of recording and all musicians, staff, and production crew conducted rapid tests before every rehearsal and concert.

Tickets for all concerts are on sale now through The Elora Singers’ website: www.elorasingers.ca
