On a hot summer day your wine can go from frosty to lukewarm pretty quickly—especially if you’re a casual sipper. And let’s face it, simple ice cubes aren’t doing your pallet (or reputation) any favours! Here,  some fun tips – plus a few recipes – from Kim Crawford to help you solve this summer dilemma.

1. Make it POP

Freezing wine into your fruit popsicles is a delicious way to incorporate your Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc into a refreshing summer treat. Can’t wait to cool down? Blend pre-frozen fruit with wine to make a colourful wine slushy!

2. Treat yourself to a Piña Kimlada

Want a wine float that will transport you to the tropics? Mix 1 part citrusy Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, 2 parts pineapple juice and 1 scoop coconut ice cream to make your very own wine float.

3. Freeze your wine

Try freezing your Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc into ice cubes and adding those to your glass so that your wine stays cool without diluting the flavour. Make your ice extra stylish by using fun-shaped trays like these diamonds!

4. Frozen and fruity

Freezing berries is a simple way to chill and decorate your wine glass. As they cool, you’ll have a flavoursome bite to enjoy.

Frosé cocktail

Ingredients

1 bottle Kim Crawford Rosé
Lemon twist to garnish

Directions

Makes 5 servings.

Two days before serving pour wine into a 9″ x 13″ pan or several ice cube trays and freeze, stirring occasionally if in a pan.

When frozen solid, using a hand blender or food processor, blend frozen wine until smooth. Serve directly or freeze again for up to 1 week, covered. Garnish with lemon twist.

Tips
-Freeze 2 or 3 bottles at a time for your next hot summer party.
-Try with any other wines.
-Don’t have a pan? Freeze the wine in a large thick re-sealable bag.

Kim De La Créme Cocktail

Ingredients

1 bottle Kim Crawford Rosé, well chilled
3 cups sliced strawberries
⅓ cup sugar
Club soda
1 carton vanilla ice cream
Edible flowers to garnish

Directions

Makes 5 servings.

In a medium bowl mix the strawberries and sugar. Cover and let sit for 30-90 mins mixing occasionally. Divide the strawberries and any juices between 5 rocks glasses, add wine and a splash of club soda. Top with a generous scoop of ice cream. Garnish with your favourite edible flowers.

Tips
-Use coconut based ice cream for dairy free/vegan option.
-Substitute peaches, raspberries or any of your favourite summer fruit for the strawberries.
-Use honey instead of sugar for a richer flavour.
