In October 2006, Google bought YouTube for 1.65 billion US dollars. Google at the time was betting that YouTube would be a great market hub as more viewers switched from television to the internet.
The satirical magazine founder Harvey Kurtzman got the image from a postcard. The name Alfred E. Neuman was obtained from Alfred Newman, the music arranger in the 1950s.
