Trivia of the day for November 12

Found in the mountaintops of many alpine countries, edelweiss inspired Rodgers and Hammerstein to write the song with the same name for their musical “The Sound of Music”. The musical first appeared on stage in 1959. It also appeared in a film version, released in 1965.
