Peanut Butter Maple Sauce
Cooking time: 2 minutes
Makes 2/3 cup (175 mL)
1/3 cup maple syrup (75 mL)
1 wide strip of orange peel
1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 mL
1/4 cup natural peanut butter, smooth or crunchy 50 mL
1 tsp vanilla 5 mL
In a small saucepan, heat syrup with orange peel and cinnamon over low heat. Once it comes to a boil,whisk in peanut butter until melted. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm.
Tip: Sauce can be refrigerated for several days, but will firm up. Reheat before serving.
