Another spin for the Beatles

The iconic tunes were released on CD in 2009 and then made available for digital download on iTunes in 2010 — and now the Beatle’s acclaimed original studio album remasters have made their long-awaited stereo vinyl debut in North America.

Vinyl albums have become trendy in recent years, not just among Zoomers who may feel nostalgic for those long, youthful days of spinning records and collecting album cover art, but also among a younger generation of collectors who are discovering for the first time the uniquely personal and hands-on experience of ‘playing’ and caring for their music.

The 14 albums are manufactured on 180-gram, audiophile quality vinyl with replicated artwork, including the poster in The Beatles (The White Album) and the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band’s cut-outs.

The newly released albums are available individually, or in a stunning boxed edition that includes a 252-page hardbound book by award-winning radio producer Kevin Howlett. The book, which is exclusive to the boxed edition, features a dedicated chapter for each of the albums, and for vinyl aficionados, insight into the creation of the remasters and how the albums were prepared. The book also showcases photographs spanning the recording career of what many consider to be the world’s greatest rock band, including many images that were not included in the 2009 CD booklets.

The boxed edition, which is limited to 50,000 copies worldwide, includes titles such as The Beatles’ 12 original UK albums (first released between 1963 and 1970), the US-originated Magical Mystery Tour, and Past Masters, Volumes One & Two, featuring non-album A-sides and B-sides, EP tracks and rarities.
