Roots: Made in America?

Go figure. The two men responsible for one of the most iconic Canadian brands are American. Forty years after the first Roots store opened in Toronto, co-founders Michael Budman and Don Green are applying for their Canadian citizenship. The brand ingrained in Canadian culture can be considered one of Our country’s biggest cheerleaders in a sense, with jackets, clothes, shoes and more all toting symbols of all things Canuck from maple leaves to beavers. Not surprising, really, only Americans are capable of such pageantry.  Watch the clip above to see what inspired Budman and Green to create a Canadian brand that has grown success that knows no bounds.
