If you live in Toronto or are interested in the upcoming mayoral race you won’t want to miss this ruckus debate at the Zoomerplex!

The New AM 740’s Dale Goldhawk hosted the Toronto mayoral debate with candidates John Tory, Doug Ford and Olivia Chow (Oct. 10, 2014). The formidable panel of questioners included Libby Znaimer, vice-president of News and Information at Zoomer Radio and Adina Lebo, president of the Toronto Downtown Chapter of CARP.

Dale Goldhawk will host the Toronto mayoral debate on The New AM 740 during Goldhawk Fights Back on October 10th, live from 11:05 am to 1 pm. All three major candidates will be there—Doug Ford, Olivia Chow and John Tory. The debate will be video-streamed live on three of our ZoomerMedia websites: EverythingZoomer.com, AM740 and CARP.

Unlike too many past debates, this will be no Caspar Milquetoast free exchange of polite ideas and worn-out, time-tested platitudes designed to put your butt to sleep in that cheap plastic chair. Remember the televised leaders debate during the last provincial election where the moderator didn’t even get to ask a question?

Dale Goldhawk has been moderating political debates municipally, provincially and federally for the past 13 of his 47 years as a journalist. It’s his job to ask questions, encourage debate, and be tough but fair to all contenders. According to Dale,

“In my opening recommendations and instructions to the candidates, I tell them to try, at least once in a while, to answer the question, reminding them I will insist on answers once we get rolling. I hope I will not have to use my whip and chair. At the end of the debate, if all the candidates have some problem with the way the debate went, then I’ll know I have done my job.”
