Get a Body Boost with Pure Grapefruit Juice

(NC)—With less exposure to the sun and natural light, we often feel tired and in need of an energy boost during the winter months. Fight off winter weather woes with the fresh taste of 100 per cent pure grapefruit juice.

One eight ounce glass of pure Florida grapefruit juice supplies your body with 100 per cent of the daily requirement for vitamin C, a nutrient which the body cannot manufacture on its own and therefore must be consumed through the diet. This wonder vitamin is a powerful antioxidant that supports your immune system and also helps the body absorb non-heme iron, which we need to maintain healthy red blood cells. Grapefruit juice also provides magnesium which promotes normal blood pressure and thiamin which helps convert food into energy – a great combo to maintain a healthy body this winter.

“All of the key elements to help win the battle against fatigue during our cold Canadian winters can be found in a glass of 100 per cent pure Florida grapefruit juice,” says Lydia Knorr, MHSc., registered dietitian with the Florida Department of Citrus. “With its nutrient-rich benefits and delicious taste, revving up your mornings with one serving (250 mL) of pure Florida grapefruit juice makes sense.”
