Doctors hold breast cancer call-in

Doctors at the Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre in Toronto are putting teleconferencing technology to the test this Monday. They’re holding a cross-Canada conference call open to all.

On Monday, September 25, 2000, at 12 noon Eastern, (1 p.m. Atlantic; 11 a.m. Central; 10 a.m. Mountain; and 9 a.m. Pacific), Dr. Maureen Trudeau, Head, Medical Oncology/ Hematology, Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre will host the event.

It’s being held in anticipation of Breast Cancer Month in October. Organizers say it will provide an outline of recent breast cancer developments for post-menopausal women. More than 19 000 Canadian women annually are diagnosed with breast cancer.

The public and media can participate free of charge by dialing from anywhere in Canada 1-800-564-4672 and mentioning the BREAST CANCER CONFERENCE CALL. The formal presentation will be followed by a question period. The conference will be conducted simultaneously in French by Dr. Christian Fortin at 1-800-564-3880 and mentioning the CONFERENCE SUR LE CANCER DU SEIN.
