Dish Up: Skirt Steak Salad

This classic recipe with a kick is perfect for weeknight meals and easy entertaining.

Skirt Steak Salad
Serves 4
Preparation time 30 min.

3/4 lb. skirt steak
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. dried jerk seasoning
1 Tbsp. olive oil
sea salt

Bowl of greens
1 large tomato
1/2 small red onion

Wash the meat and pat dry before putting on the dry jerk seasoning rub, olive oil and soy sauce. Marinate overnight.

Using a cast iron skillet turn the heat to high and put in the oil. when the oil starts to sizzle add the meat, turn down to medium-high and cook on each side for 2-3 minutes for steak that is medium rare. Allow to cool before slicing thinly. In a bowl full of greens (you can choose your favourite, I used mache) add the steak and some red onion and tomato and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle sea salt.
