Leslie Nielsen, RIP

Canadian-born comedian and actor Leslie Nielsen died from complications of pneumonia in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Sunday around 5 p.m. He was 84.

According to his agent John Kelly, Nielsen was surrounded by his wife, Barbaree, and friends.

“We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielsen, probably best remembered as Lt. Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60-year career in motion pictures and television,” said Kelly.

Nielsen was the recipient of a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame.
