Judy Welch, RIP

A Canadian modelling icon past away this week.

Judy Welch began her rise to fame when she became Miss Toronto in 1956 and then later became the first Canadian finalist in the Miss World competition.

Welch went on to found the Judy Welch Modelling Agency that boasted a roster that included Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista.

Welch was photographed with the likes of Elvis Presley and Paul Anka and was friends with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.

She died in her sleep on Tuesday at the age of 74.

According to the Toronto Star, there will be a small memorial party with invitees ranging from well-known fashion industry figures and celebrities including Jagger, Ron Wood and Bill Cosby.
