Target Announces First Canadian Locations

By Brooke Benjamin
The Target Corporation has staked out the first 105 Zellers locations it will acquire from The Hudson Bay Co., most of which are to be converted into Target stores. With locations in every province, Target has clarified that some of these stores will continue to operate as Zellers but will close for six to nine months for extensive renovations before reopening as Target in 2013. The stores that are not converted, they will either be repossessed by the Bay or sold to other big-name retailers such as Wal-Mart. Target is one of the second-largest  department store chain in the U.S., second only to Walmart. The company had roughly $65 billion in revenues last year.
