What can I contribute to my RRSP after retirement?

Question: I took early retirement – age 53, after 32 years working at the same place and contributing to a pension plan. I am getting a severance which I know can be put into my RRSP, but what can I contribute to The RRSP after retirement? I have a part-time job, and I will be getting a pension.

Gordon Pape answer: You can continue to contribute to your RRSP until age 69 as long as you have earned income. Money earned from your part-time job will qualify but not income received from any pensions or investments.
