What Canadians say about money

How money smart are you? There’s always room for improvement, say experts. In 2009, the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) and Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF) launched the first ever Financial Planning Week here in Canada. Now in its third year, this annual event helps raise awareness about money issues and gives people the tools and expertise needed to take control of their finances. The week includes financial planning events across the country.

But how do we really feel about money, and how much do we think we need to save for retirement or to buy a house? This summer, the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) hit the streets of Toronto to talk to Canadians from all walks of life about money. Here’s what they had to say:
