10 best cars to have sex in

No Sex Please, We’re British. That was the name of a West End theatre farce in Britain in the 1970s but it also became a widely subscribed to viewpoint of stuffy Brits.

If it were ever true then it is an image that has certainly been dashed by poll conducted by online car retailer, Autoquake.com .

A recent survey, found that 54 per cent of Brits admit to having had sex in a car.

Despite cramped conditions and the risk of being caught, 22 per cent say sex on four wheels is a fantastic experience but 32 per cent think sex in a car is overrated.

Those who have never had car sex split evenly between those who would like to give it a try to those who believe it’s wrong. Of those holding the latter belief, almost two-thirds are women.

Therefore, it should perhaps be no surprise to discover then that while 28 per cent of men say sex in a car is fantastic, just 18 per cent of women feel the same way.

Autoquake uncovered an unexpected generational divide. While only 13 per cent of 18-24 year olds have tried sex in a car and really enjoyed it, 39 per cent of those 55-plus say car sex is great.

Of all the age groups surveyed, the older generation is least likely to find the idea objectionable -just 11 per cent of those were older than 55.

Autoquake’s CEO, Dermot Halpin, said: “We’re surprised that so many drivers have used their cars as mobile bedrooms, and impressed that the older generation are leading the way.”

Halpin had this advice for anyone considering sex on four wheels: “If you are thinking of having sex in a car … don’t forget to leave the heating on.”
