Calling all grandchildren

If a young person of your acquaintance is interested in computers and the Internet, (which is entirely likely if you’re reading this) direct them to the website listed below. Veterans Affairs Canada is sponsoring a web page design contest to mark Veterans’ Week 1997. Students from across Canada are invited to submit designs to be considered for use in the Veterans Affairs Canada web site.

Submissions will be accepted until December 31, 1997. In January 1998, VA will be reviewing all submissions and announcing the winners. Designs submitted for consideration should, in words and pictures, pay tribute to the sacrifice and achievements of veterans of the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War and peacekeeping missions. The goal is to illustrate how the actions of these men and women contributed to the lifestyles we enjoy today and the country that we live in, and recognize the importance of remembrance and commemoration.

Categories are Junior (age 11-14) and Senior (age 15-18). A Grand Prize of CorelDraw will be given to the class of both junior and senior categories of the Home Page Design Contest, while Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 will go to the classrooms of t runners-up in both categories. For full contest rules and submission guidelines, visit the website listed below.
