Find that long lost friend

Online phone directories are getting even handier and easier to use, with the announcement this week that Microsoft is integrating the “InfoSpace” directory into versions 3-5 of its Internet Explorer browser software. Infospace already has an agreement with Netscape Communications to provide white pages and yellow pages directories for Netscape Navigator users.

Like Canada 411 and other online directories, Infospace lets you easily find a phone number and the complete address of friends and relatives, and they don’t have to be on the Net. Infospace offers a wide variety of extra services on its site, including email addresses and complete white and yellow page listings for all major cities in Canada, the United States, and several European countries.

If you’re not listed in your local phone book, you can add a free listing of your name and email address that will make it easier for others to locate you. Other services at the site include public records searches (if you really want to find someone) and stock market and financial industry quotes.
