It’s finally here!

Kids have been demanding it for a long, long time, and now they finally have their wish: the first annual Kids’ Day will be held in Canada this Saturday, June 6. The purpose of National Kids’ Day is two-fold: it provides an opportunity to publicly celebrate all Canadian children, with a special focus on those who are in your personal life. It’s also a day for fortunate families, corporations and organizations to give something back by contributing to Canadian children’s charities.

National Kids’ Day is the first initiative of The Smile Trust, a not-for-profit organization formed by children’s industry organizations and corporations to raise funds for Canadian children’s charities.

This Saturday, participating Canadian retailers and toy companies will be donating a percentage of their sales to fund children’s charities across Canada. Many retailers will have Kids’ Day offers, prizes and in-store entertainment.

So whether you’re a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt or friend, make this Saturday extra special for the kids in your life. And, of course, remember those less fortunate with a donation of time or money to your favorite children’s charity.
