Passages of time: What’s in the stars for 2009?

Every 17 years Pluto astrologically makes its way around the zodiac and changes signs. And since it is considered the last planet in the solar system its impact in astrology, both individually and globally, is far reaching.

Financially, “It’s the planet of bankruptcies, debt and starting all over from scratch.” (Time & Money; The Astrology of Wealth; Barbara Koval.) When I wrote this column last year this planetary influence was skipping back and forth from one sign to another… and my suggestions at that time focused on “cutting back”, “conserving” and “keeping one’s faith”. Since then my friends have been asking for guidance and advice in an effort to understand what has happened this year – and what will happen going forward into 2009.

2008 was a year that marked the end of an important passage of time. It represented an event that has taken us back to “reality”. The good news is that in the first six months of 2009 the world will appear to get back on its feet. However, we will be taking one last short trip down memory lane from July to November, and people will find themselves re-addressing the consequences from the latter part of 2008.

Investing Tips for 2009 : Good time to buy anything that is electronically related and/or any innovative products that relate to technology, especially in the health industry. Watch for acquisitions and company mergers, as this could be an excellent way of receiving alternative sources of revenue. The market will be making many unexpected swings throughout the year so it’s best that you do your research or consult a financial planner before you buy.

2009 Sun Sign Forecast

For the Fire Signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius the focus is around working in a more conservative environment – one without all the frills. It is important for this group to learn patience and adjust their thinking – otherwise much frustration will be encountered in both their personal and business lives. Aries and Leos born from the 23rd to the 5th of their respective months will find life very challenging to deal with in 2009. And for those of you who are Sagittarians you will need to take on much more responsibility and find ways to re-event yourselves in order to stay ahead.

Generally speaking, the Earth signs Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo will be arriving at a much happier place in 2009. Astrologically, these signs will enjoy more stability in the coming year. In fact, the “earth” element is in the spotlight for the next 17 years, which will provide much personal harmony and abundance to all of these signs.

Capricorns born from December 23 rd to January 5 th are experiencing profound changes to the way they think — and they will definitely be tested in ways they could have never imagined. This is the sign that is currently making the most impact, astrologically speaking, and explains what kind of structure (or lack thereof) affecting their personal lives. If you were a Cap born after January 5 th the impact described above will become more intense in around five years time.

For those of you who are born under the Air sign of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius it may be a fickle time to start any type of new project or venture. Although Jupiter is smiling down on you throughout 2009 be cautious when making major decisions – and always ask for a second opinion.

For those of you who are born under the sign of Gemini expect certain issues to surface throughout the year that will test your patience. Your detached attitude will come in handy as it becomes important to look at life from a totally objective viewpoint.

Aquarians are not quite affected in the same way as their other Air sign friends and will see all changes as positive and necessary for moving forward. Librans born from September 23rd to October 20th may see major shifts taking place in their life and need to hang on until the fall arrives. 2010 will give all Air Signs a second chance to get their act together and bring renewed stability to their lives.

As with the Earth signs, the Water signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will enjoy fewer obstacles and more opportunities in 2009. Both Scorpio and Pisces are on a roll and will have much luck on their side. The months of March and April bring the resolution that all Pisces are looking for. And all Scorpions will find their life flowing much easier than usual.

Cancerians will also be blessed; however, unexpected events on a personal level may take their toll – especially those of you born from June 23rd to July 5th . The biggest turning point time period for all Cancers arrives in September and October.
