Best in Canada: Mari-time: Newfoundland and Labrador

Summer in Newfoundland and Labrador is about revelling in the incredible edible, historical and visual bounty. It’s a varied province, where an urban experience is only a short drive from something super-natural and choices for day trips abound. About an hour’s drive from St. John’s, visit Ferryland Lighthouse picnics for a beautiful packed lunch — blanket and all — while Mother Nature supplies the rest: a grassy spot, whales, ocean air.
