A trip west for the Seniors Games

This could be the summer to “go west, fifty-plusser”. The south-central Alberta towns of Olds and Didsbury (not far from Calgary) are hosting the 11th Alberta Seniors Games from July 25 to July 28, 1999. The event, which draws more than 1000 athletes from every corner of the province, offers an excellent “cornerstone” for a western vacation. Why not fly out west, take in the games, and tour some of Canada’s most breath-taking scenery?

Games organizer Kathleen Windsor says that Organizing Committees are already preparing the communities as a showcase of western hospitality, and are excited about the opportunity to highlight the area and surrounding district. As she points out, the event will be most memorable for participants and visitors to the Games who will come from all across Canada.

The Alberta Seniors Games have been held every second year since 1980, and are organized by two cooperating seniors’ groups.
