Delta moves to Montreal

Visitors to Canada’s sexiest city now have a new place to stay. Montreal’s third largest hotel — the Radisson Hotel Montreal Centre will officially become the Delta Centre-Ville on December 1. Visible from the Bonaventure expressway, the hotel is located at the southeast corner of University Street and Saint-Antoine Street, three blocks west of the Montreal Convention Centre and adjacent to Old Montreal. The surrounding area has been designated “La Cité Internationale” by the City of Montreal in reference to its growing international commercial traffic.

Delta has pulled out all the stops in the renovation, which includes:

– A re-opening of 144 guest rooms that have been closed since 1994

– A complete re-design of the main entrance

– Improved health club facilities

– The addition of a Children’s Creative Centre and

– The introduction of front desk “pods” as a replacement for the traditional barrier-like fro desk.

During 2000, Delta will renovate the hotel’s lobby and improve the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. A further $8.6 million has been earmarked for renovations over the next four years. The addition of 711 rooms makes Delta the single largest brand name in downtown Montreal.
