New non-stop Toronto-Kelowna service

Air Canada has announced that it will offer daily non- stop Toronto-Kelowna service, effective June 19, 2000. The new service is especially good news for those who have retired in the B.C. sunbelt but maintain family and friends in eastern Canada. The new flights are driven by demand, and are one positive result of the recent Air Canada takeover of Canadian Airlines.

“We are responding to the growing demand in travel to popular destinations in the Okanagan Valley,” says Air Canada’s Danielle Poudrette.

Air Canada says the new schedule is designed to provide the maximum choice of connecting flights via their hub at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. Daily flights will be operated aboard Air Canada’s Airbus A319 aircraft, configured to seat 112 passengers in Executive or Hospitality service.

Canadian Airlines will sell seats on the new route on a codeshare basis. Air Canada flight AC1193 (CP4193) will depart Toronto at 6:30 pm, arriving in Kelowna at 8:00 pm. Flight AC1192 (CP4192) will depart Kelowna at 8:30 am and arrive in Toronto at 3:30 pm.

To promote the new service, Air Canada is offering its customers double Aeroplan bonus miles when travelling round tr for the first time on the new route between June 19 and August 31, 2000. Tickets are now available from CARPTravel.
