Ramada offers new concept in vacation lodging

Ramada has unveiled a unique new community in Canmore that it says combines the benefits of hotel and condominium living. The Ramada Hotel & Suites, Canmore, is a hotel, vacation property, and rental revenue generator all in one.

Set in the mountains, the property has 122 hotel-style luxury suites, which also double as condominium apartments available for purchase. As well as short-stay rentals for vacationers, the complex offers purchasers the full privileges of affordable vacation property ownership. With ownership comes the potential for extra rental revenue year-round.

You are not investing in a timeshare unit where you share title and ownership of a unit,” says Ramada’s Jim Young. With individual Condominium Title Ownership of one of our suites, you have the freedom to enjoy your space, or have it rented out by us.

The site offers skiing, golfing, hiking, and fishing for year-round activities. The new Silver Tip golf course (designed by renowned course designer Les Fuber) is nearby, with the Banff Springs Golf and Country Club 20 minutes away.

The list price on the units includes year-round maintenance of suites, plus promotional and rental services provid by building management professionals. Located on a side street in Canmore, the complex is a short walk from downtown and a 20-minute drive from Banff. A heated underground parkade provides direct, secured access to suites via four elevators. Suites have computer stations, fireplaces, TVs and VCRs, and fully furnished kitchens.

It’s an interesting concept that combines ownership with the hotel amenities and the potential for rental income. Ramada says that the initial response to the units has been very favourable, and is planning similar developments in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
