Sydney 2000 Olympic tickets for sale

Those considering a trip down under next summer for the millennial Olympics can now purchase event tickets. The Canadian Olympic Association (COA) has appointed Carlson Marketing Group as Canada’s “Official Ticket Seller” for the first olympiad of the 21st century. The company had similar responsibilities for the Nagano Winter Olympics Games.

Carlson Marketing Group says that an estimated 25,000 tickets (approximately $3 million worth) are now available to Canadian consumers. Whatever your station in life, be advised that tickets to the games are not cheap, although after you’ve shelled out for your airfare to Oz they may seem like a bargain. The Olympic Event Tickets will range in price from $28 for “preliminary round events” to a whopping $1,607 for premium category “A” Opening and Closing ceremony seats. You could spend a week at a resort for the price of one of the premium seats, but my guess is that they will sell out quickly.

And Sydney is a great venue for the games. One of the great seaports of the world and a truly international city with a rich multi-cultural community, Sydney will host 15,000 athletes from more than 200 countries to compete in 28 sports. Accordg to advance reports, the Games of the XXVII Olympiad will be the largest and the most elaborate ever staged. Held from September 15 to October 1, 2000, the 16-day event will take place at various venues in Sydney and the surrounding area. As the Aussies are already fond of saying, the world’s smallest continent will transform into the world’s biggest stage. For event ticket information, call 1-888-351-5999 or visit the website below.
