Travel tips: Changing your airline tickets

When you book a flight be sure that you are aware of the change or cancellation policy. Changing an entire unused ticket or your outbound flight can be very expensive. Most airlines charge a fee to change the ticket as well as the difference in price between the two tickets. If you purchase tickets at a discount or special online fare you may be more restricted than usual.

If you are booking far in advance consider cancellation insurance. Check with your travel agent for details and be sure you understand what the policy covers and what it does not cover.
