The Zoomer Report: Cancellation Insurance

Here’s some important news if you’re planning a trip soon. It’s
now easier to get cancellation insurance. It used to be that you had to buy
it within a few days of putting the first deposit on your holiday. Now some
leading travel insurers have changed the rules, and you can buy it up to a day
before your departure. There’s a website called insuremytrip.ca
that allows you to compare quotes. For instance, I got five quotes for a $2000
trip to the U.S. for a couple over 50. The cancellation insurance ranged from
$102 to $146.
