New Okanagan Resort will Dazzle and Refresh

Set upon a pinnacle overlooking Lake Okanagan near Vernon B.C., Sparkling Hill Resort is already creating a buzz in the spa industry of North America – and it isn’t even open yet! When the massive doors swing open in March 2010, everyone walking through will be amazed at the offerings.

“We are very excited about the opening,” says Hans Peter Mayr, President and CEO of the property. “Everything is coming together beyond our expectations. The wellness centre will be the focal point and we can’t wait to see how our guests react to our treatments. Sparkling Hill will become THE Place to relax and THE place to rejuvenate in North America. People are already making reservations.”

SpaThe wellness offerings will be the heart of the property offering over 100 treatments supporting its Whole Body Wellness philosophy. Each specifically designed treatment is aimed at refreshing and revitalizing the entire body by going far beyond the standard massage and facial treatments. The resort will offer consultations with physicians, nutritionists, physiotherapists as well as spa practitioners to enhance each guests stay.

Sparkling Hill will proudly offer the first Cold Sauna in North America with temperatures of – 110°C. Even though Canadians say they regularly endure the coldest temperatures – this will definitely be the coldest they will ever experience with the most positive outcome! Additionally there will be seven different sauna and steam rooms for guests to indulge in. Each with different temperatures ranging from hot to cold and offering a variety of aromas, textures and stimulants to promote rejuvenation, relaxation, energy, restoration, and enjoyment. Choosing from the delightful list will be challenging, creating reasons to stay longer or to make the visit a regular routine.

The resort is also introducing the Kneipp holistic spa treatment that uses small pools of icy water to invigorate the senses. Two larger swimming pools will be tempting to just lay back and relax in. The indoor pool will be 14m x 8m with crystals embedded in the ceiling overhead for a starry sky effect and a 17m x8 m outdoor infinity pool will overlook Lake Okanagan. Both pools will be saltwater treated and have underwater music and lighting.

crystalThe reflection of the sun and moon off the shimmering lake will not be the only sparkle at the resort. The resort named after its “sparkling hill” will be enhanced further by being the first in North America to incorporate “crystal architecture” designs and components from Swarovski of Wattens, Austria. The crystals will be infused in waterfalls, in fireplaces and in overhead lights. They will dazzle and set the mood with bold prisms in public areas while subtly creating a feeling of warmth and rejuvenation in the wellness centre and intimate dining rooms.

Dining at Sparkling Hill Resort will be both exquisite and unique the resort restaurants will serve locally grown produce when possible prepared fresh at the resort. And of course, there is a wine bar that will showcase some of the finest wineries in the world without forgetting the best Okanagan wines created from the surrounding vineyards.

towelsRetiring to the guest rooms will be an inviting experience, designed far from the standard bed-table-chair-TV configuration. Each room is luxuriously appointed with spectacular views of Lake Okanagan and the Monashee Mountains. Wall-to-wall panel windows open up to let the fresh air in. Most rooms are wheelchair accessible and “Rover” is invited to stay too.

With Sparkling Hill Resort offering so much on-site it’s hard to believe guests will want to explore beyond the property but the Okanagan is a playground for the adventurous and nature is just outside the door. Hiking, heli-hiking, mountain biking, world class golf, boating, beaches, wine tours, skiing and heli-skiing are just a few of the activities that will be offered by the resort. Activities can be enjoyed independently or with the guidance of one of Sparkling Hill’s experienced guides.

It won’t matter whether guests visit Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Hotel the first time for the wellness centre, the food or the spectacular offerings of the valley. What does matter is that it will definitely be the beginning of a healthy relationship.

Only 25 kilometres south is the Kelowna International Airport. The resort is also within a day’s drive of Vancouver, B.C. 441 km (274 mi) and Calgary, Alberta 556 km (354 mi).
