George Hamilton Faces Skin Cancer Scare

Notoriously tanned actor George Hamilton has reportedly suffered a skin cancer scare.

Apparently the 72-year-old had a procedure done to remove the potentially cancerous tumours on his face.

According to The Godfather’s agent, Hamilton only had sun damage. He said, “It was not cancer. It was skin damage from years of being in the sun. It has been treated and he is fine now.”

Whether the ordeal was a legitimate cancer scare or simply a bit of sun damage, the Dynasty star is currently rehearsing for an upcoming U.S tour of the musical La Cage Aux Folles.

Coincidentally, the chronic tanner’s girlfriend is a skin doctor and tries to encourage Hamilton to avoid tanning, but her insistence has not changed the actor’s attitude toward sunbathing.

He launched tanning salons across the U.S. in 1989 called George Hamilton Sun Care System.
