D-Day Remembered - A Photo Tribute to the Canadian Boys Who Landed on Juno Beach

Jim Baker, Distinguished Service Medal, Royal Marines. The Royal Marines were the British troops who landed with the first wave of Canadian troops on Juno Beach on D-Day. They helped clear the beaches of mines and German gun emplacements so the Canadian assault troops could break through German defences and liberate the towns. Their ranks were decimated by enemy guns but always held in high regard by Canadian vets.
