“Fresh Prince” Actor James Avery Passes Away at 68

TMZ is reporting that the actor who played Uncle Phil on 90s hit show Fresh Prince of Belair has died at the age of 68.

Avery was in the hospital recovering from a surgery for an undisclosed illness.

Alfonso Ribeiro who played Carlton tweeted Wednesday afternoon: “I’m deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly.”
