The Grandkids’ Guide to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Part 1 of the final Harry Potter movie has arrived. In this Harry Potter film, the magical world of London and rural England is the backdrop to the ongoing war between good and evil and it’s up to Harry, Ron and Hermione to put an end to that war by finding all of the evil lord Voldemort’s “horcruxes” and destroying them before it’s too late. Voldemort and his gang of death eaters have already taken over the Ministry of Magic. This film has a perfect blend of action, comedy, suspense and drama. Overall, this movie would be great for a person of any age, whether you have read the books or not. As usual, the actors did an amazing job of really connecting and maintaining their characters: Ron is still the same bumbling buffoon with bright red hair, Hermione is still the smartest pain in the butt out there, and Harry is still the #1 public enemy in the wizarding world.

In this movie they also bring back a lot of the favourites like Hagrid and the Weasley twins. And they made some new additions, like Bill Weasley, the older brother of Ron, Fred and George Weasley, and Luna Lovegood’s father Xenophilius Lovegood, who is also the editor of the Quibbler magazine, which supports Harry in his fight against Voldemort and his death eaters. Grandparents (and parents) will be happy to know that there is no swearing and barley any blood. There is only one scene that is a bit sexy but no nudity, just kissing. I highly recommend seeing this movie. I can hardly wait for part II.
