Harry Belafonte Gets Some Shut-Eye

Eighty-four-year-old Harry Belafonte was caught taking a catnap during a television interview Friday, and the video clip of the interview has already gone viral. Belafonte did not budge after the newscaster welcomed him via satellite. She said, “Harry? Wake up, wake up.” When he still did not move she said, “He’s taking a little nap.”

The Day-O singer’s rep Ken Sunshine told People magazine that they were dealing with a “technical glitch” and “After weeks of literally hundreds of interviews promoting his HBO documentary [Sing Your Song], memoir and CD, Mr. Belafonte had an early morning satellite TV tour this past Friday.” Adding,”His earpiece wasn’t working, so he decided to take the time to meditate before the rest of his Day-O.”

We say, if Belafonte is 84 and still working hard, he can nap if he wants to.
