Ageless Moyer Sets Pitching Record

We thought Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Omar Vizquel was defying the odds by playing pro baseball at age 45. Well, last night in the National League, pitcher Jamie Moyer, 49-year-old pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, became the oldest player ever to win a game, pitching seven innings in a 5-3 win over the San Diego Padres.After the game, Moyer seemed unimpressed with his record: “The way athletes are going in today’s game, I think it could be broken.”
