The vast South Pacific is home to many destinations at the top of Canadians’ travel wish lists … Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji and more.

And as with any bucket list trip, you want to make sure you make the most of your vacation budget, as well as your time.  It’s a huge part of the world and it can be easy to get a little too ambitious!

Where to begin?

Start with a visit to Vision Travel’s new website discoversouthpacific.com, where you’ll find certified specialists who are well-travelled and enthusiastic ambassadors for the region.  Some have even lived in various areas of the South Pacific and all have taken specialty trainings set up by our valued travel and tourism partners. You’ll also find special offers, early booking savings, suggested itineraries, and blogs full of insights.

Let us help you by arranging any tour you can imagine, even unique experiences like sailing on a genuine Americas Cup Yacht or heli-hiking on a New Zealand glacier. Take a “Glamping” trip (tents with all the comforts of home – and then some), enjoy a private winery tour or a meet-the-chef experience, these are the sort of memorable experiences we can incorporate into your holiday.

Here’s a little preview of the South Pacific to get your wanderlust going!

Australia

Virtually the same size as the continental US, it’s home to countless famed attractions: Sydney Opera House, the mystical Outback, the Great Barrier Reef, the colonial charms of Melbourne and so much more.  All of which are spread out from coast to coast, you won’t be able to see it all in two weeks. To make your way across this vast continent you’ll want expert advice to choose the way best suited to you.

Australia was made for adventure travel, we can help with itineraries including trekking, hiking, biking or overland touring. As rugged as you wish or with a soft landing at night if that’s more your style.

New Zealand

Scenic, charming, relaxed: just a few words to describe this stunning country which is about the same size as the UK but with a significantly smaller population. Only about 5 million people live in New Zealand compared to the 64 million that live in the UK!  There are however about 30 million sheep in residence.

Comprised primarily of two islands, simply named North and South Islands, each of which has its own charms, it would be a shame to visit the country without sampling a little of both. The North and South Islands offer cities with cosmopolitan vibes, sophisticated shopping and thriving dining scenes.  Active adventures such as skydiving, skiing the Southern Alps, hot-air balloon rides, hot springs and geothermal mud pools are in abundance here.

South Pacific Islands

The unparalleled beauty of the South Pacific islands is something everyone should experience. Like a magical necklace of turquoise and pearl hues French Polynesia, Fiji, the Cook Islands, Samoa and Rarotonga embody the concept of an exotic vacation. If your wish is to spend time on a few different islands, then island hopping by air is ideal way to achieve this.

Snorkel in the crystal clear, warm waters.  Dine on fresh-caught fish and tropical fruits.  Go pearl diving or charter a boat for deep sea fishing.  Indulge in downtime while lounging in your over the water bungalow. No wonder this is the destination of dreams!

Cruising to Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific

Prefer the comforts of a cruise? From elegant ocean liners to smaller, more intimate ships visiting multiple islands, a cruise can be an enjoyable way to see the main ports of the South Pacific while only unpacking once. Itineraries that circumnavigate Australia and New Zealand, luxury Polynesian Island cruises and voyages that take you to Asia are all available and we can help you choose the one that fits your needs best.

Our clients tell us we are the best for one-stop shopping to the South Pacific.  That’s because we are the number one Canadian member of Virtuoso, the largest group of luxury travel advisors in the world.  We have the connections to get you complimentary hotel upgrades and other treats such as free airport transfers, welcome cocktails, exciting experiences and more!

No matter where you choose to travel, the vast distances and varying cultures and costs in the South Pacific require the sure hand of an experienced travel advisor.  Why not entrust your vacation dreams to one of our discoversouthpacific.com experts? We’ve been there, we know it, and we love to plan dream vacations there!
