Toronto’s Premier Listening Room Poised for Bustling Holiday Season

Hugh’s Room Live, since the original venue’s opening as Hugh’s Room in 2001, has played host to a number of classical artists and concerts in its 17 + years.

The venue has a small grand piano that has served many artists/ensembles well.

This is a rags to riches success story as nearly two years ago the venue shut its doors due to financial woes.  Fortunately a passionate group of music lovers took quick steps to try and effect its survival.

What began as a hastily assembled committee evolved over the next couple of months to become a not-for-profit, hard-working Board.  A fundraising campaign was launched and, a within a few weeks raised $150,000.00 – enough to prepare to reopen. Of course there followed fences to be mended, trust to be regained.

We are looking forward to a holiday season filled with artists who, year after year, bring their own brand of seasonal music to the venue.

We welcome back Ken Whitley’s Gospel Brunch, The Ault Sisters, Quartette, Wintergarten and French Squeeze
