Telemedicine benefits through Maple

We all know there are gaps in provincial health care. One key challenge is timely access to general physicians. It’s often difficult to get a doctor’s appointment same day. While many offer virtual visits, availability still depends on the doctor’s calendar and office hours. Waiting when you’re sick – it’s a problem.

That’s where telemedicine and Maple come in.  Maple provides an online platform that allows you to connect with a Canadian-licensed general health care practitioner from your phone, tablet, or computer within minutes.  Yes, in just a few minutes!

All plans include 4 virtual visits every year!

Effective April 1st, all our personal health insurance plans will include four free virtual visits per family every year with general health care practitioners through Maple.  They are available seven days a week, 365 days a year (from 7 am to midnight, local time). Now that’s truly accessible!

During virtual consultations through Maple, you can receive diagnoses, prescriptions, medical notes and lab requisitions. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for these four visits. They can be used when you, or one of your family members who lives with you, is the patient.  And, if you choose to use Maple more than four times in the year, you’ll have the advantage of GreenShield preferred pricing.

They provide coverage towards the routine health-related expenses that add up quickly, like dental care, prescription drugs, prescription eyewear, optometrist check-up’s, visits to chiropractors and registered massage therapists.
