Telemedicine benefits through Maple

We all know there are gaps in provincial health care.  One key challenge is timely access to general physicians. It’s often difficult to get a doctor’s appointment same day. While many offer virtual visits, availability still depends on the doctor’s calendar and office hours. Waiting when you’re sick – it’s a problem.

That’s where telemedicine and Maple come in.  Maple provides an online platform that allows you to connect with a Canadian-licensed general health care practitioner on your phone, tablet or computer, within minutes.  Yes, in just a few minutes! During your virtual consultations through Maple, you can receive diagnoses, prescriptions, medical notes and lab requisitions, as needed.

We’ve offered our customers GreenShield preferred pricing for Maple visits.  Now, all our personal health insurance plans include four free virtual visits per family every year with general health care practitioners through Maple.  They’re available seven days a week, 365 days a year (from 7 am to midnight, local time). That’s truly accessible!

There are no out-of-pocket expenses for these four visits. They can be used when you, or one of your family members who lives with you, is the patient.  And, if you choose to use Maple more than four times in a year, you’ll still receive GreenShield preferred pricing.
