The Catcher in the Rye
Chapman assassinated Lennon on the 8th of December 1980, shooting him in the back outside the Dakota building where Lennon was living at the time. Hours before this event Lennon shook Chapman’s hand and signed a copy of the Double Fantasy album for him. Chapman was sentenced to a maximum of life in prison.
