DAY TEN

Why is it that the first part of a vacation passes deliciously slowly and the last part flies by much too fast, especially when we’ ve made friends with so many interesting people like Joanne and Dawn from Chester Nova Scotia, Gustav and Lily from South Africa and Ian and Jennifer from England. We all agree this is a great itinerary. Today, we are on the spectacular island of Crete and visit the Knossos Palace. Driving through the countryside with oleander blooming and orange, lemon and olive groves dotting the landscape is an added bonus. The legendary birthplace of Zeus, Crete is the largest of the Greek islands. The Palace of Knossos is where King Minos held court and while there, we walk the very first street of Europe.
