In the last couple years, we’ve seen hydro prices for the average consumer in Ontario rise by more than 15 per cent and, in the past 10 years, the average price of electricity has doubled.

Darrin Maharaj of ZNews recently visited Alison Lakey of Burlington, Ont., a three-time cancer survivor now forced to cut back on her medication in an effort to pay her bills.

And Lakey is only one of thousands of seniors now struggling to make ends meet. And, as CARP illustrates in their Heat or Eat? campaign, when seniors have to choose between food and hydro, we have a problem.
