Toronto Fashion Week: Joe Fresh Fall 2013

THE COLLECTION  Featuring a palette that was mostly white and black, the Joe Fresh fall 2013 collection was inspired by cool French girls in early 90s Paris, said the show’s style notes. With all the models wearing spiky black wigs, there was a fusion of punk and jazz through out the collection with studded faux leather jackets, embellished skinny jeans, printed tees, shiny black suits, cape coats and matching sweater knit sets.

THE ZOOMER TAKE  Yes, it was youthful looking and achingly cool – you almost expected the models to light up Gitanes on the runway – but there were pieces for the more mature Joe Fresh customer. A slinky velvet pant suit would pass muster at a holiday cocktail party. The full skirts and turtlenecks are smart choices for the office. And of course, there were the accessories – delectable smoking slippers and demure kitten heels.
