Show Quebeckers you care

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s court victory for supporters of equal language rights in Quebec comes a great New Year’s Eve offer in Montreal. What better way to show Quebeckers, anglophone, francophone and allophone, that we in the rest of Canada still care than with a millennium trip to Montreal? For those who want something different but don’t have the budget for a trip abroad, this package is worth a look, and a listen.

The Novotel Montreal’s Millennium package includes two premium tickets to Celine Dion’s New Year’s Eve show at the Molson Centre, each of which is valued at $350. The musical extravaganza will commence at 9:00 P.M. on December 31, 1999 and come to a close at 1:00 A.M. on January 1,2000. Joining the diva for this performance will be rock superstar Bryan Adams and cast members from the musical, “Notre Dame de Paris.”

The Novotel Montreal’s Millennium package also includes accommodations at the hotel for two nights (including December 31, 1999); a complimentary bottle of champagne served in your room on arrival; a pre-show, five course New Year’s Eve dinner for two; and free buffet breakfast daily.

The package price isn’t cheap ($1,699– double occupan) but it does offer an easy way to mark the millennium in style, if Celine Dion is on your top ten list. The 200-room Novotel Montreal Center is located across from the Molson Center, and is also within walking distance of the city’s other main tourist attractions.
