SuViche, Miami

Combining ceviche with sushi, why didn’t anyone think of it sooner? Either way, the new SuViche has people excited. Fusing together the Peruvian citrus-marinated seafood dish with the traditional Asian cold fish, it’s a match made in gustatory heaven. The exotic duel menu features specialty plates like the Ceviche SuViche (ceviche marinated with the house specialty sauce with corn and glazed sweet potatoes), the Ceviche Nikkei (ceviche marinate with lime, avocado and peanuts, also with the corn and potatoes) or the Ceviche Mexicano (ceviche with avocado, cilantro, red onion, done in olive oil).

Or are you more about the sushi? Very well then, it’s always about the sushi, which in this case is the traditional way, with a line-up that includes the likes of steak rolls, Miami rolls, tuna rolls – the standard sushi menu suspects.

Still not properly stimulated? As a round-the-globe kind of offering, SuViche also has a small but reassuring specialties list which offers a plate of sautéed steak with tomatoes and red onions, or the mashed beans plate mixed with rice, seafood, cilantro and creole and similar entrées, none of which go over $12.

While the menu is elaborate, the décor is simple; white walls (with splashes of orange here and there), light coloured tables with a fun glass design on the doors, but giving off an NYC loft feel. The atmosphere is more suited for on-the-go, take-out and delivery is available as well. As a lunch stop, the feeling works.

Either way, SuViche is worth a visit if you have no idea what you’re craving. If you feel like Asian, come here. If you feel like Latin-American food, come here. If you feel like staying at home, get it delivered. If you feel like a dessert, they have flan.
